Last week, Tank Reline were called in to investigate faults with a storage tanks outlet connection, after being reported within a legionella risk assessment. The sectional water tank fed the supply for a Morrisons supermarket, based in the North East of England, therefore a timely solution was necessary to restore the systems functionality.
After surveying the tank, our team of engineers concluded that the condition of the outlet was unfit for further use due to it's clear leak susceptibility. To grant the installation of a new outlet connection, the previous outlet needed to be sealed both internally and externally using a high-grade, sustainable solution. In order to achieve this, the team applied a durable fibreglass sealant to fill the space where the previous outlet connection was situated. Once set, it was deemed that an additional coating of polyurethane would offer the most optimal protection for when the tank would be recommissioned into use.
Our client was supplied with a newly installed 1" flanged outlet, along with a lever isolation to further maintain compliance. To complete the works, we provided an expert cleaning and disinfection service to the tanks internal and external surfaces. This allowed for the storage tank to be refilled and recommissioned into operation.
