Water Tank Support Replacement

Liverpool

IMG_20200716_121514.jpg

THE TASK

Tank Reline were called in to replace the hollow roof supports in these two large cold-water tanks at a prestigious university complex in Liverpool. With each tank measuring 10m x 4m x 3m, the existing hollow tank supports were causing a significant water hygiene risk, as a potential breeding ground for Legionella due to the stagnant water trapped within them.

University      3 Day Completion Time

PHASE ONE

Upon arrival, the team were required to drain down both tanks, before setting up safety equipment to allow for safe access and egress. Only confined space trained operatives were permitted to work on the project, due to the high-risk nature of the environment.

PHASE TWO

The existing hollow supports were removed one by one - to maintain the integrity of the tanks - before being replaced with solid, WRAS approved support bars, eliminating the previous risk of stagnant water. Following the removal of all waste from site, the tanks were cleaned, refilled and disinfected before being placed back in service. Click to learn more about our water tank support replacements!
